Paul Smith: Masters of Craft
Featuring many of the artists represented in RAM’s collection, this exhibition offers an intimate look at major figures in contemporary craft. For over thirty years, Paul J. Smith, Director Emeritus of the Museum of Arts and Design, took casual portraits of artists as he encountered them in various settings including in their studios. With an atypical twist of having the emphasis on the artist directly and not the work itself, these photographs reflect the personalities and individuality of makers who shaped the field in the twentieth century.
