Southern Rites: Photography by Gillian Laub
In 2002, Gillian Laub was sent on a magazine assignment to Mount Vernon, Georgia, to document the lives of teenagers in the American South. Laub photographed surrounding Montgomery County over the following decade, returning even in the face of growing—and eventually violent—resistance on the part of some community members.

Description:On May 6, 2005, the Elvehjem Museum of Art changed its name to the Chazen Museum of Art. The Chazen collects, preserves, interprets and exhibits works of art and presents related educational programs in support of the teaching, research and public service missions of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Admission is free. Open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; Thursday 9 a.m.–9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
