La Crosse Chamber Chorale: Poets to Pirates
The La Crosse Chamber Chorale opens its 21st concert season with the world premiere of five new pieces written for its Words to Music project, in which area composers set poems written by local 4th to 8th grade students to music. Also hear performances of "Orpheus with his Lute" by MacFarren/Shakespeare, "Ave Maria" by Josquin Des Pres, Rachmaninoff's "Lord, Now Lettest Thou" and "The Pirate King" from "Pirates of Penzance" by Gilbert & Sullivan.
