Description: Built in 1905 and moved to the county fairgrounds in 1961, when the schools were consolidated, the Brickyard School Museum seeks to preserve the history of rural schools in Lincoln County. The museum holds a collection of photographs of 70 rural schools in Lincoln County mounted and displayed as well as photo albums of class pictures, indexed by name. Visitors will also find an exhibit on the Lincoln County Normal School, the local teachers college. One-day classes are now offered to area 1st graders in the school house museum. These classes simulate classes taught in the old rural schools.
Open house, 10am-8pm, for five days, the 3rd week in July during the Lincoln County Fair. Tours by appointment. Free admission, donations welcome.
