Artist statement
My recent art is inspired by images from my world. This includes my immediate world, the environment and neighborhood in which I live, as well as the world that I discover on my travels. I am a printmaker. My art consists of original prints; collographs, monotypes, woodcuts and engravings, pulled off a Takach Press in The Brown Dog Studio, which is located in my home. I am committed to creating art in a non-toxic environment, using supplies and processes which are friendly to the earth, my body and my mind. I feel it is imperative that an artist produces art that has personal meaning, and during the creative process, thinks about what she is doing. In other words, creating art should use both the heart and the brain. This is my goal.
