Transcript for David McLimans interviewMy name is David McLimans. I'm an illustrator. I live in Madison, Wisconsin. And I'm creating a poster for Portal Wisconsin. People recognize it as a guitar, no matter what I do. When I decided to be an illustrator, I spent time developing a style. I was really drawn to that design style of drawing and working with simplification of forms. And then, that led to taking that style into what I'm doing here. And that is still-- It's still very graphic in the sense of how I design it, but then collaging into it is really bringing in texture and color-- I like that bright color. It's more akin to painting. Does it look like anything through the camera? Oh, yeah. So, the first part is thinking about it, conceptualizing, saying well, how would I say something. Meaning, this one is using materials from the seven partners to convey that. And in collage, it's the concrete bringing the concrete part of a lot of things together in one composition. The challenge is really to make something lively and interesting, but relevant.
