Capitol City Band
One of Wisconsin's finest concert bands, Capitol City Band specializes in concerts in the park in the tradition of John Philip Sousa and the U.S. Marine Band.
The band was formed in 1969 and is conducted by Jim Latimer. It has become a Madison tradition to play free concerts in the park on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m., June through August, at Madison's Rennebohm Park (recently named Home of the Capitol City Band). Summer 2006 marks the band's 38th season of free concerts.
