Madison Maennerchor
Founded in February 1852 by twelve Madisonians of German descent, the Madison Maennerchor is the oldest of nine German singing organizations in Wisconsin and the second oldest in the United States. The group perpetuates German and American choral music, along with good fellowship or "Gemuetlichkeit," continuing this tradition by participating in local cultural events and presenting concerts for the Madison public.
