National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, Midwest Regional Office
In 2001, the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts launched its first regional initiative, recognizing talented high school artists in the areas of dance, music, theater, visual art and writing.
Based in Madison, the nonprofit, regional program identifies and rewards accomplished young artists from the Upper Midwest. One hundred winners may later qualify as Presidential Scholars in the Arts and as recipients of college scholarships.
