Artist statement
The Wisconsin landscape attracts my contemplation and spirituality. My work attempts to bring the same comfort to the viewer that he/she experiences in touching the land personally.
Biography
Education: Dakota Wesleyan University, Indiana State University, University of Kansas, Belles Artes, Instituto Allende (Mexico).
Trained with renowned landscape tonalist Michael Workman in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Currently represented by The Wilde Meyer Gallery in Scottsdale & Tucson, Arizona; Ars Longa in Taos, New Mexico; The Hayden-Hays Gallery in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Mazomanie Historic Art Center, Mazomanie, Wisconsin; and Art Holdings in Minneapolis, Dallas, Chicago and Detroit.
Rochester has had one and two-man shows in Taos and Scottsdale, as well as group shows in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Marshfield, Wis.; and Mazomanie, Wis. His works are in several private and corporate collections, and he is employed full-time as a painter.
