Artist statement
I explore the essential organic forms, especially those revealed in flowers and plants. Using ebony, graphite and charcoal, I create lines and shadows. I have a fundamental belief that art is for everyone and try to offer work that is accessible to everyone on many levels.
Biography
I am a writer and artist living in Madison, Wis. Growing up as a farm kid in West-Central Wisconsin, I learned early to value people and nature on an introspective level. In my writing and art, I search to reveal the essential, pure natures of my subjects.
I graduated from Edgewood College with degrees in writing and art. I gravitate to nonprofit work that keeps people at its core.
