Artist statement
As you can see, I am fascinated with birds, although anything in nature inspires me. All of my ideas come from our Northwoods property and I consider myself fortunate enough to be inspired every day. I spend a lot of my time in the woods with a camera, and in my gardens with a trowel, making it fairly easy to get the reference I need to paint.
I am, for the most part, a self-taught artist, however I did have some schooling at UW-Green Bay, taking a serious interest in art. I have been painting since my grandmother taught me oils at the age of 12. Most of my painting experience has been in acrylic and enamel, but in the past couple years, I've learned a bit about watercolor, and I absolutely love it! It's a little unpredictable at times, but that seems to be the fun part about it.
I've recently "gotten serious" about painting, setting aside more time to do what I love.
Biography
Born 1970. I am currently employed in the screen printing industry as a Creative Artist at Artisans, Inc. in Glen Flora, Wis., where I have worked for 11 years.
