Artist statement
Although I don't necessarily consider myself an "artist," I create art from my own ideas as well as digitally manipulating photos I have taken, creating a "digital surrealism" and "digital watercolor." I am also inspired by nature scenes such as lakes, seascapes, forestry, sky, sunsets and waterfalls as well as fractal imaging and digital abstract.
In the mid 1980's I became fascinated with my first computer, a Commodore 64, where desktop publishing and design became my favorite pastime. Later I introduced myself to the x86 generation of personal computers and became interested in all formats of computing, including troubleshooting, networking, audio and, of course, Web and graphic design and publishing.
I've always been interested in artists such as Salvador Dali, da Vinci and Frank Lloyd Wright for their classic artistic talents and surrealist character, and try to bring out some of their creative genius in my thinking as well as art.
Coping with a mental disability, I tend to keep shyness to the public and have an anti-social behavior, which sometimes makes it difficult to promote any of my "talents" and gain recognition for my computer knowledge and graphic capabilities. I try to involve myself in consumer-related activities and art events. I've chosen to refer to myself as Wired, which describes the anxiety that I cope with.
I'm not quite sure where my art will take me, but I remain optimistic and continue to create as ideas come to me. The compliments and sale of my art also helped me with self-esteem as well as inspire me to continue creating.
